Don't get confused when you go to buy an LCD projector. There are mainly two types when it comes to the LCD kind: standard LCD projectors and polysilicon LCD projectors. The difference between these two are really simple and will not confuse you when shopping around for which type you want.
Standard LCD projectors normally have one panel of LCD glass. This one panel of glass controls the three primary colors. Most often, these projectors are a little more reasonable in price because they are becoming less common in the projector marketplace, mainly due to the polysilicon LCD projectors that are coming out. Now polysilicon LCD projectors have three panels. These three panels control colors and are considered to be of higher quality and resolution than standard LCD. The popularity of these projectors is what makes them more common in stores. They also have a higher color saturation that is produced through the three panels which out does the standard LCD projector for a better picture. Simply put if you want a better picture check out the polysilicon projectors, but if that does not matter to you, then a standard LCD projector will be okay.
